HISTORY

Faith was organized in August, 1971 as an independent, unaffiliated  church, and remains so today.  In that sense, Faith is like the early churches of the first century.  We have been served by only three pastors since our founding.  Pastor Virgil Romans, the Church’s first pastor, served faithfully until his death in 1999. Our second pastor, Dr. Jim Gibson, began his ministry at Faith Baptist in the fall of 2001 and ministered until his retirement in December of 2014.  Our current pastor, Pastor Grant Utley, began his ministry at Faith Baptist in March of 2015.  Believing in the life-changing power of the Word of God, our commitment remains the same as since our founding - a commitment to the expository teaching and preaching of the Scriptures.  In addition to our ministry to this community, we also support missionaries whom we personally know and who are serving in different areas of the world.  They are a part of our ‘extended family’, and we regularly pray for them as well as provide them with monthly financial support.
